tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3916494355363470299.post4447477575389062632..comments2010-03-21T11:18:26.305-07:00Welcome To: A Tribute To Our Troopshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10578286798106061858noreply@blogger.comBlogger2125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3916494355363470299.post-16064175276381184992010-03-21T09:26:19.155-07:002010-03-21T09:26:19.155-07:00i am so proud of our lions we always stand tallAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3916494355363470299.post-34918439393574414382010-01-31T03:51:09.948-08:002010-01-31T03:51:09.948-08:00Strong as a lion, standing proud<br />he walked across the crowded parade ground<br />those in attendance cheered him, for this simple task<br />carried out by the soldier in tan<br />was more than many thought fair to ask<br />but they wouldn&#39;t understand:<br />He in his uniform would always stand tall<br />(and with his comrades aside him who would not let him fall)<br />step by painful step he knew he&#39;d make his way <br />with pride before the Prince on that chilly day<br /><br />It&#39;s not his legs or arm that make him a man<br />it&#39;s much more, something deep inside<br />so that even with stumps means he can stand so tall, with honour, dignity and with pride. <br />He knows colleagues who have fallen,<br />men who have died<br />men who have lost as much as he, some even more-<br />so he stands next to them, just one of the lads who&#39;ve been touched by conflict and war.<br /><br />He knows he has a duty to show<br /> that the soldier inside him<br />is strong enough to keep living depite them<br />that would see him die by the dirty roadside<br />He&#39;s been given his life, and he&#39;s holding on tight<br />He&#39;s fighting to heal, and it&#39;s the fight of his life. <br />It&#39;s not because he was injured, but because you can&#39;t keep him down- <br />that&#39;s the reason he was honoured on that bright parade ground. <br /><br />Some never return, some come back hurt<br />but they keep their sufferng hidden<br />and we should applaud them, each one<br />for the work they have done<br />as the pride of our beloved Great Britain.<br /><br /><br />((I am a nurse, I know Selly Oak and see these lads... they are remarkable, they never complain, they just keep working and their colleagues- both the healthcare ones and the other soldiers- all keep their spirits up... they are amazing, and we should never forget- you don&#39;t have to want or like the war, but don&#39;t stop loving the soldier...))Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
